    ATI Accounting Technician

    • Programme overview

      Drogheda Institute of Further Education (DIFE) is partnering with Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI), Ireland’s leading body for Accounting Technicians, to offer the ATI Professional Diploma on a part-time, evening basis at the Drogheda college campus.

      The programme provides graduates with an internationally recognised qualification and in-demand financial and accounting skills to apply to a range of roles in various sectors, ensuring excellent routes to employment. Accounting technicians are qualified accounting professionals that work at all levels of finance and are widely employed throughout the public sector, industry and commerce, and in private accountancy practices.

      ATI qualifications, which can be obtained in as little as two years, are recognised as one of the fastest pathways to a fulfilling and rewarding professional accounting career.

      • grant support applies to a one year duration only
      • ATI fee of €800 is not included in this support and must be paid separately
    • Learning outcomes

      Students can avail of support for either Year 1 or Year 2.

      Year 1

      The programme is divided into four modules assessed via remotely invigilated online exams. Updated every year with the newest legislative and taxation changes, the Accounting Technicians Ireland syllabus equips you with employable business skills, and a strong technical knowledge of finance and accountancy practice:

      • Financial Accounting: Gain an understanding of the principles and concepts of financial accounting, technical competency in double-entry bookkeeping, and preparation of financial statements for various types of reporting entities.
      • Taxation (ROI/NI): Develop both an understanding of, and technical skills, in personal and business taxation.
      • Business Law (ROI/NI): Gain an understanding of the key concepts and fundamental principles of law in the context of business and commercial activities.
      • Business Management: Develop knowledge and understanding of business organisations and functions, information systems in business, modern management, leadership, corporate governance, professional ethics, and corporate social responsibility.

       

      Year 2

      Develop a strong foundation in business and accountancy. This initial one-year programme is the first step to qualify as an Accounting Technician and enables progression to the Diploma. It is a Level 4 Certificate Award accredited by CCEA and equates to a Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications in the Republic of Ireland.

      The programme is divided into four modules assessed via remotely invigilated online exams.
