Bootcamps in ICT created for the Northeast

M1 Drogheda Chamber Skillnet Partners with Generation Ireland and Amazon Web Services to Launch Transformative IT Bootcamps for Regional Workforce Development

Drogheda, 9th October 2023 – M1 Drogheda Chamber Skillnet is delighted to announce the launch of two industry-leading bootcamps, focused on IT Security and Amazon Web Services (AWS), set to begin this November and December respectively. These programmes are a result of funding secured from Skillnet Ireland’s Skills Connect programme, the Government of Ireland’s leading business support agency dedicated to advancing the competitiveness and innovation of Irish businesses.

In a strategic partnership with Generation Ireland, an industry leading not-for-profit entity, M1 Drogheda Chamber Skillnet aims to transform the education-to-employment journey. Generation Ireland, with its proven methodology, offers pathways to those who are unemployed or underemployed and its programmes have historically generated tangible business value for employers and have had a lasting impact on participants’ careers.

“This collaboration underscores our commitment to fostering regional growth and strengthening our workforce by providing cutting-edge, industry-relevant training,” said Joe Lynch, M1 Drogheda Chamber Skillnet Manager. “We aim to cater for 22-25 learners for each bootcamp, with a significant portion anticipated to be from counties Louth and Meath.”

These bootcamps are an example of how enterprise-led workforce development can not only cater to business needs but can also create a pool of highly skilled professionals ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow, today.

Amazon Web Services Country Lead Ireland and Operations Director Neil Morris added: We are delighted to partner with Generation Ireland and M1 Skillnet to provide training through our pioneering AWS re/Start programme to people in the Louth and Meath region looking to launch a career in tech and develop new skills.
