The Concrete Certificate
The Concrete Certificate is an on-demand course developed by a panel of academic and industry experts to provide participants with essential information on concrete materials and properties, including requirements for ordering and delivery of ready-mixed concrete.
The course ensures that concrete construction workers meet the requirements of TII Specification for Road Works Series 1700 – Structural Concrete.
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine recommends that contractors undertaking concrete works on farm structures have completed the Concrete Ticket course.
Part 1 – Materials, Properties and Reinforcement.
Part 2 – Ordering, Production, Delivery and Formwork.
Part 3 – Placing, Compacting and Finishing.
Part 4 – Curing, Protection and Joints.
Each part is followed by a short multiple choice question test.
This course has been specifically designed and developed for construction workers responsible for receiving, transporting, placing and finishing concrete after its arrival on site, or in precast production. The course will also benefit anyone involved in the manufacture, dispatch or transport of ready mixed concrete.
Early career stage engineers would also benefit from the course.
The course takes approximately two hours to complete. The course can be accessed online at any time and is designed to be completed in the participant’s own time.
The course is provided by the Irish Concrete Society.
Established in 1973 to promote excellence in the use of concrete in Ireland, the Irish Concrete Society is the primary organisation in Ireland concerned with the technical aspects of design and construction in concrete. Since its foundation, the Society has remained a cross-sectorial, independent, impartial, science and engineering based organisation.
