Programme overview

Course Aim
This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to run training courses that will inspire and motivate your delegates. Over the two days the time is divided between tutorial sessions and practical skill development. The course covers the nature of training, the trainer's role and how people learn. The course also covers how to design a training programme and with particular emphasis on how to retain the interest of the learners. The course also deals with how to deal with questions in a professional manner. Overall the course will comprehensively supply you with the skills and competence to organise and deliver training courses that motivate the learner and produces results. You will walk away equipped with tools to train people to a high standard and start training immediately!

Trainer Profile

The Leinster Institute of Professional Development was set up by Brian McGloughlin in 2009. Brian is a highly experienced within the area of HR and as a Consultant and Trainer across a broad range of industries (Retail, Healthcare and Travel) and business models. Brian has gained valuable experience both in a self-employed capacity and through management positions in the private sector. Brian has over twenty years experience in both the multinational and SME sectors. He appreciates the competitive advantage that learning and development can bring both to the individual and the organisation.

Brian completed an MBA and an MSc in Human Resource Management with the OU Business School and is currently completing a PG Dip (OSH) at UCD. Brian has also completed a QQI (level 6) Trainers course as well as the NUIM Certificate in Training and Further Education. He is a member of the QQI External Authenticator Panel and is also a member of the Irish Institute of Training and Development.
