    Programme overview

This course covers the Principles and Applications of Reliability-centred
Maintenance (RCM). RCM consists of seven questions and is used to determine
what needs to be done (in terms of maintenance, training, procedures and
design) to improve the reliability, efficiency and cost effectiveness of a physical
asset or process. The RCM process considers how to select the optimum
maintenance strategies based on the consideration of the failure modes of the
asset and the application of a structured approach to identify the best way to
manage each failure mode. RCM software is used for data capture, analysis and
    reporting

    Learning outcomes

After attending this course, the delegate will be able to understand the principles
behind the RCM process, the steps of the RCM process and the information
required for each of the steps of the process. They will recognize the distinction
between the different types of maintenance such as condition-based, preventive
    and failure-finding

    • To develop a scheduled maintenance plan for a physical asset that will
provide an acceptable level of functionality, with an acceptable level of
risk, in an efficient and cost-effective manner
    • To evaluate whether preventive maintenance is appropriate and determine
    optimum maintenance intervals.
    • To promote analysis processes that are more efficient and more effective,
utilizing lessons learned from past analyses when applicable

    Who is the course for

RCM team members, Reliability engineers, Project engineers, Maintenance analysts, Maintenance superintendents, Design engineers, Plant Performance engineers
