Programme overview

This course will run over 5 1 1/2 hour sessions over 5 weeks on the following dates: Tuesday April 14th 11.30- 1pm, Monday April 20th 9.30am-11am, Monday April 27th 9.30am-11am, Wednesday May 6th 9.30am-11am and Monday May 11th 9.30am-11am.

This course is designed for learners who have used Excel before and want to expand their knowledge, improving formatting, organising data, highlighting key information and creating formulas/links between sheets. The course will introduce new concepts for sorting data, and building conditional formulae. If you think you know Excel, this course will show you what you've been missing. Learners will leave feeling a new confidence in their Excel expertise and ready to take on new challenges with data. During the training session, each learner will work through exercises and practice using the various Excel features covered during the course.

Who is the course for

This course is suitable for those who are currently using MS Excel on a regular basis but may not have attended formal training recently or may never have attended training.  It is also the next step for those who have already completed Excel Level One and would like to explore further functionality available within MS Excel. You should have a good working knowledge of Excel before attending this training,


We will begin the day with an overview of some of the Level One topics.  This will act as a recap for those who have already attended Level One, and will ensure that the experienced users who have not attended Level One become more aware of the use of Speed Keys etc.  We will then cover some of the intermediate topics – working with and linking multiple worksheets, creating charts, managing lists (Sorting & AutoFilter) among some other options.
